Accomplishments
Through leadership, community service, and creative projects, I have learned how to communicate effectively, work with others, solve problems, and turn ideas into meaningful results. Each of these experiences has helped shape my interest in marketing and strengthened the professional skills I hope to carry into my future career.
Vice President of Programming and Enrichment
Alpha Omicron pi
Being elected Vice President of Programming and Enrichment was an opportunity to take on a leadership role within my sorority and make a meaningful difference in the experience of approximately 300 members. In this position, I oversee several areas of our chapter, including Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, Ritual Education, Academics, and Health and Wellbeing. Rather than simply attending meetings, I help organize our programming calendar, communicate with headquarters, collaborate with other executive board members, and create checkpoints to make sure my team stays on track. One of the most rewarding parts of this experience has been seeing the impact our work can have on individual members. My team and I help women find better ways to study, learn more about our organization's principles, feel included, and find support when they need it. Sometimes leadership is not about making a large announcement or accomplishing one major project. It is about being someone others know they can depend on. This experience has also pushed me outside of my comfort zone. I have become more confident speaking in front of groups, presenting information, and communicating with different audiences. Most importantly, I have learned that effective leadership requires listening just as much as speaking. This experience has strengthened my confidence and given me a better understanding of the type of communicator and leader I want to become professionally.

Animal Shelter Donation Drive
My animal shelter donation drive was one of the experiences that first sparked my interest in marketing. What began as a simple idea, collecting donations for a local animal shelter, became an opportunity to organize a community wide effort and learn how creativity and communication can turn an idea into action. The animal shelter was in need of basic supplies, including food, toys, treats, and cleaning supplies. I took responsibility for organizing the drive and figuring out how to get people in the community involved. One of my biggest challenges was creating the promotional materials. At the time, I was still new to creative platforms such as Canva, so designing a flyer was outside of my comfort zone. I had to learn how to use the platform while also thinking about how to make the message clear enough that someone would immediately understand the purpose of the fundraiser. This was my first real experience discovering how much I enjoyed having creative freedom and using visuals to communicate a story. The results went beyond what I initially expected. We collected three full boxes of donations, including food, toys, treats, and cleaning supplies for cats and dogs. We also recruited approximately 50 volunteers who spent the day helping the animals by walking them, giving them baths, playing with them, and providing social interaction. The experience taught me that marketing is not only about selling a product. At its core, marketing is about understanding an audience, communicating a message, and motivating people to take action. Seeing people respond to something I had organized made me realize how powerful effective communication can be.

Health and Wellbeing Coordinator
Alpha Omicron Pi
As the Health and Wellbeing Coordinator for Alpha Omicron Pi, I took on a role centered around supporting the overall wellbeing of our members. My goal was not only to plan wellness events, but also to create an environment where members felt comfortable reaching out when they needed someone to talk to. With a large group of members, I quickly learned that supporting people's wellbeing requires both thoughtful programming and genuine communication. One of my main responsibilities was planning and organizing wellness-focused events for our chapter. I had to think about what topics would be relevant to our members and how to create events that would encourage them to participate. This required planning ahead, communicating with members, coordinating details, and making sure each event provided something valuable rather than simply being another event on the calendar. Another important part of my position was finding and coordinating speakers. I reached out to potential speakers and worked to bring in individuals who could provide useful information and different perspectives on topics related to health and wellbeing. This challenged me to become more comfortable with professional communication and taught me how important it is to be clear, organized, and respectful when communicating with people outside of my organization. This experience strengthened several skills that I hope to use in my future career. Planning wellness events taught me how to manage multiple responsibilities and think about an audience when creating programs. Finding speakers helped me develop my professional communication and networking skills, while serving as a resource for members strengthened my ability to listen and communicate with different personalities.
